Schedule

Day 1: Arrival in Sri Lanka & Negombo City Tour

  • Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be greeted by your tour guide/driver and transferred to your hotel in Negombo, a charming coastal city located just 15 km from the airport.

Day 2: Kandy – The Cultural Capital

  • Journey: Drive from Negombo to Kandy (approximately 3.5-hour journey).

  • Depart after breakfast and head towards Kandy, the heart of Sri Lankan culture and Buddhism.
  • Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic – one of the most revered religious sites in Sri Lanka.
  • Stroll around Kandy Lake and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
  • Visit the Kandy Royal Palace Complex, home to Sri Lankan kings in the past.
  • Experience a Kandyan Cultural Dance Show in the evening, a vibrant display of Sri Lankan traditions.

Day 3: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya – The Tea Country

  • Journey: Drive from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (approximately 2.5-hour journey).
    Sightseeing:

  • Visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, famous for its orchid collection and giant Javan fig tree.
  • Stop by Ramboda Falls, a breathtaking 109m-high waterfall cascading through lush greenery.
  • Visit a Tea Plantation & Factory, where you will witness the tea-making process and enjoy an authentic Ceylon tea tasting session.
  • Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England” due to its colonial charm.
  • Take a scenic evening walk around Lake Gregory.

Day 4: Horton Plains & Nuwara Eliya Exploration

  • Sightseeing:

  • Early morning departure to Horton Plains National Park (leave by 5:30 AM).
  • Trek through Horton Plains (8 km hike) to witness:
  • Baker’s Falls, a beautiful waterfall nestled in the misty forests.
  • World’s End Viewpoint, a stunning 870m sheer cliff drop with panoramic views.
  • Return to Nuwara Eliya and visit:
  • Victoria Park, a peaceful place filled with colorful flower gardens.
  • The Pink Post Office, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest post offices built in Tudor-style architecture.

Day 5: Scenic Train Ride to Haputale

  • Arrive in Haputale, a charming hill town surrounded by tea fields.

Day 6: Haputale to Ella – The Highlands’ Wonders

  • Journey: Drive from Haputale to Ella (approximately 1-hour journey).

  • Watch an unforgettable sunrise over the tea fields.

Day 7: Ella to Negombo – A Scenic Return

Day 8: Departure – End of an Incredible Journey
